Approximately 30 people attended the Cheraw Airport Commission and Town of Cheraw's meeting at the Town Hall Monday evening to inform the public of the Safe Airport Project which involved efforts to obtain funding for a runway extension and new lighting at Cheraw Municipal Airport. Speaking at the meeting were, left to right, George Walters Jr., Airport Commission Chairman; Rep. Jean Harris, Mayor C. H. McBride, administrator Bill Taylor, County Councilwoman Ida Mae Burch and Larry Haynes, president of the Cheraw Chamber of Commerce.
