Harvest Hope Food Bank is dedicated to ending hunger in Chesterfield County and works with faith partners, businesses and civic groups to identify pockets of poverty and hunger in the community.

Last year Harvest Hope delivered 496,262 pounds of food in Chesterfield County to feed more than 33,258 individuals struggling with hunger. To assist in distributing food to the increasing numbers of hungry people across Chesterfield County, Harvest Hope partners with approximately 14 local member non-profit agencies coordinating efforts to provide food to the needy.

Harvest Hope also works with local service agencies and faith partners to organize food distribution to Chesterfield County through its Mobile Food Pantries (MFP), and last year delivered more than 1,556 pounds of food to provide for Chesterfield County residents. Harvest Hope fills designated MFP boxes with food, loads them on refrigerated trucks and delivers them to scheduled sites in Chesterfield County to deliver food to those most in need.

Additionally, Harvest Hope has Children’s Feeding programs that deliver food to children of struggling families directly in their schools. Last year Harvest Hope provided 8,801 meals to school children in Chesterfield County. Harvest Hope also provides for Chesterfield Counties’ Seniors and last year provided more than 9,959 pounds of food through their Senior Feeding programs.

Harvest Hope can provide five pounds of food for a dollar, or the equivalent of five meals and dedicates 98¢ out of every dollar donated to their mission of feeding the hungry in South Carolina. Financial resources are needed to help Harvest Hope maintain its hunger relief services in Chesterfield County and donations can be mailed to Harvest Hope at P.O. Box 451, Columbia, SC 29202-0451 or donated online at www.harvesthope.
