The Cheraw Chronicle and Chesterfield Advertiser is your community newspaper. One of the ways we involve ourselves is by running the events and happenings of the community in our weekly calendar. Send us your event listing no later than noon the Monday prior to publication (Thursday) and we will list your event in the newspaper. There is no charge for most event listings. ANNUAL CHESTERFIELD COUNTY CHRISTMAS PARADE

WHEN: Saturday, December 1 at 6 p.m.

WHERE: Main Street Downtown Chesterfield

WHAT: The theme of this year’s parade is “Every Day is a Gift.” Churches, civic groups and businesses are encouraged to enter “homemade” floats with lighting being encouraged. Best float prizes will be awarded as follows: grand prize - $300, second place - $200 and third place - $100. The grand prize winner will also receive a trophy to keep until next year’s parade. Other entries are also welcome.

ANNUAL MINISTER’S CHRISTMAS BANQUET

ST. DAVID’S SCHOOL HOLIDAY HOME TOUR

WHEN: Sunday, December 9 from 2 to 6 p.m.

WHERE: Downtown Cheraw and 140 Second Street, Cheraw

WHAT: St. David’s School 15th Annual Holiday Home Tour in historical downtown Cheraw. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 day of event. Tickets can be purchased for the tour at St. David’s Episcopal Church, Main Street Hair Designs, Cathy’s Stained Glass, Kevin Lear on Main-Cheraw location, or by calling the School at 843-537-0544. Take advantage of this opportunity to glimpse into beautiful, historic Cheraw through the Holiday Home Tour. This year’s tour will feature homes throughout downtown, as well as an opportunity to visit St. David’s Episcopal Church.
