Five Chesterfield General Hospital nurses have been nominated for the South Carolina Palmetto Gold Award.

The award, given by the South Carolina Nurses Foundation, salutes excellence and commitment to the profession by recognizing 100 nurses from across South Carolina each year.

“We congratulate each of our nominees on their outstanding service to nursing and thank them for the care and compassion they show to our patients every day,” said Chesterfield General Hospital Chief Nursing Officer, Jennifer Huston, RN, MSN.

Chesterfield General Hospital nurse nominees are, (along with a few comments included in the nominations):

• Debbie Spells, RN, MN

Through the promotion of nursing and the encouragement of excellence in nursing practice, the Foundation’s major goal is to improve the quality of health care to all South Carolina citizens by advancing the profession of nursing in the state.

In the nearly 5 years I have lived in Cheraw, I have had the opportunity to see the enormous advances the hospital has made and excellent staff working within the facility. Congratulations to all. It has become the facility I am very proud of.
