The Cheraw Chronicle and Chesterfield Advertiser is your community newspaper. One of the ways we involve ourselves is by running the events and happenings of the community in our weekly calendar. Send us your event listing no later than noon the Monday prior to publication (Thursday) and we will list your event in the newspaper. There is no charge for most event listings. BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

BLACK HISTORY MONTH PROGRAM

WHEN: February 25 at 3 p.m.

WHERE: Wallace Family Life Center, 574 Old Wire Road, Bennettsville

WHAT: A celebration of black history month. There will be many guest speakers along with a skit preformed by the children enrolled in the Wallace Family Life Center’s after school program. Also, the youth of Fisher Hill Community Baptist will perform a dance routine. The program is open to the public.

The Lenten series will be concluded with a March 24th Community Palm Sunday Service at 6 p.m. at Fisher Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Jerry Corbett from Pee Dee Union Baptist Church will be the guest pastor for this luncheon.

WHAT: Reverend Dr. Robin Dease will be the guest minister at Wesley United Methodist Church. She holds a doctorate in ministry and a Master of divinity degree. She is also a co author of a book and is currently an associate professor/chair of philosophy and religion at Claflin University in Orangeburg.

WHAT: The 2005 PG featured movie Nanny McPhee with Emma Thompson & Colin Firth starts at 7 p.m., lasting approx. 97 minutes. The movie is based on the “Nurse Mathilda” books & centers on the new nanny & the seven ill-behaved Brown children. Admission is $2 per person at the door.
