CHERAW — The Cheraw Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is participating in a service project entitled “North America SouthEast Area Service Day” on Saturday.

Across Southeastern portion of the U.S., churches and community organizations will unite to provide community service.

Saturday’s event in Cheraw will begin at 8 a.m. Members of the branch have chosen to clean and restore a local landmark, the Foundry Hill Cemetery. The cemetery is situated on Foundry Hill Road, near the Dizzy Gillespie Park on Jersey Street.

The key to the success of the project is that many churches and community groups participate with the Cheraw branch in accomplishing the work. Together, we can help our community, and fellowship together in accomplishing a worthy project.

Paul Brooks, president of the Cheraw Branch of the LDS Church, is inviting all area churches, organizations and individuals to join in on the clean-up.

George Boan and Ted Bradley are serving as coordinators for the project.
