Guest speakers, elected officials and merchants will gather at Northeastern Technical College in an effort to help Chesterfield County create an economic plan. Speakers will discuss topics ranging workforce development initiatives to recession proof tourism strategies.
The Chesterfield County Economic Development Board (CCEDB) is coordinating the summit.
Established in 1987, a primary goal of the board is to maintain and promote economic development in Chesterfield County. CCEDB is also responsible for marketing and promoting the county to industries and prospective Chesterfield County residents.
In addition to demographic studies, the board also conducts target industry studies and several other research methods to find the best possible industries for the county.
Cherry McCoy is the executive director of the Chesterfield County Economic Development Board.
