May 6

The Chesterfield County for Jesus team will sponsor a National Day of Prayer gathering on May 6, 2010, to pray for the town, county, state and nation. This event will be held at Centennial Park located on the corners of Second St. and Market St. at noon. All Christians are encouraged to come unite together in prayer and show support for the National Day of Prayer, which has come under attack by a federal judge as being unconstitutional.

May 9

Emmanuel Baptist Church located at 949 N. Marquis Hwy in Hartsville will have a concert of gospel music featuring The Lumber River Quartet at 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Hopewell Baptist Church will have Rev. Robert Dickard, CBA Director of Mission as 11 a.m. morning speaker and David Brock as the 6 p.m. evening speaker.

May 12-14

St. James Holiness Church in Bennettsville will have their annual youth revival at 7 p.m. nightly. The guest speaker will be Pastor Mae McRae from The House of Deliverance. The public is invited to attend.

May 16

Hopewell Baptist Church will have Rev. Sam Nadler of Word of Messiah Ministries for the 11 a.m. morning speaker and Dewey Griggs as the 6 p.m. evening speaker.

May 22

A Veterans banquet will be held on Saturday, May 22 at Maranatha Family Center located on Gopher Hill Road in Cheraw. All veterans and their spouses are welcome to attend. For more information call Pastor Allen Usher at 843-921-8123.

May 23

Hopewell Baptist Church will have Larry Stinson, principal of New Heights Middle School for the 11 a.m. morning speaker and Charles Brigman as the 6 p.m. evening speaker.

May 29-30George W. Long Memorial Presbyterian Church will have Family and Friends Celebration on May 29 beginning at 11 a.m. You are asked to wear your favorite hat (dress or casual) for a short program and a hat parade, followed by a light luncheon and tea. The guest speaker will be Rev. Dr. Ella Busby, pastor of Goodwill Presbyterian Church, Sumter. On May 30, at 11 a.m. Rev. Albert Middleton of Charleston will give an inspirational sermon. A meal will be served after. At 4 p.m. The Hillian Sisters will be in concert. The public is invited to attend.

May 30 Hopewell Baptist Church will have David Little, Lakelands Associate Director of Missions for the 11 a.m. morning speaker and Mitchel Gulledge as the 6 p.m. evening speaker.
