In the area of youth development, Chesterfield County First Steps has had positive outcomes with this program. In 2009, First Steps served 630 children under age six in child care programs in the community. These services included improving child care programs, expansion of the four-year-old kindergarten, Jumpstart to Good Health, and the Dolly Parton Imagination library book program. The success of this program is obvious as noted by the Cheraw Primary School.
In Health & Safety the Chesterfield Rescue Squad provided emergency medical care/rescue assistance to approximately 9,890 residents and an unknown amount of motoring public. In 2009, there was contact with over 1200 patients. The area covered by the rescue squad covers approximately 176 square miles in the central and northern most central portion of Chesterfield County.
In order to accomplish the common good help is needed from other agencies in Chesterfield County. This is a note to thank each one individually whether you are an individual, a church, an organization or business that contributed for the 2010 campaign. Without your caring contribution these changes would not have been possible.
Sincerely,
The Board of the United Way
of Chesterfield County
