A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Oct. 16, at First United Methodist Church, Cheraw. Burial was held in Old Saint David’s Cemetery.
T. Belton was a son of the late Charles Blair and Mary Lorena Humphries Laney. Laney was a World War II, US Army Air Force Veteran. He was a charter member and served as an officer of the Cheraw Rescue Squad. He was a Mason, Cheraw Lodge #15. He was a member of First United Methodist Church serving in several areas of leadership.
He was preceded in death by, a brother, Charles R. Laney and a grandchild, Charlie Scott Laney, Jr.
Surviving is his wife, Frances McRae Laney of Cheraw; Thomas (Nellie) Belton Laney, Jr. of Cheraw, Charlie Scott (Gail) Laney of Cheraw, Roachel (Jo Ann) Jennings Laney of Boone, N.C.; grandchildren, Adam (Audrey) Laney, Joshua (Katrina) Laney, Blair Laney, Lauren (Bryan) Tipton, great grandchildren, Elijah Laney, Molly Laney, step grandchildren, Jason (Daphne) Bryant, Joshua Bryant, and Duncan Bryant; step great grandchildren, Coleman Bryant, Callie Bryant and John Bryant.
