Icha Bud “I. B.” Merriman Sr., 86, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Merriman was born June 28, 1926, in Chesterfield, a son of the late John William and Marie Elizabeth Middleton Merriman. He was a former building contractor and was owner and operator of Merriman’s Concrete Co. Merriman was a U. S. Army Veteran of WWII. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his two brothers, J. W. Merriman and Perry Allen Merriman and by his four sisters, Gladys M. Johnston, Dethane M. Garbleman, Lattie Rhodes Merriman, and Geraldine M. Watson.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jo Tindall Merriman of the home; son, I. B. “Icky” (Joyce) Merriman Jr. of Chesterfield; daughter, Joann Merriman (Dr. Thomas) Wieters of Charleston; three grandchildren and a great grandchild.
