Vanreusel, the well-known company from Hammont Achill that produces fried snacks, has put a new building into use for packaging food products. On the former site of Horeca Van Zon, dedicated company Bewel will employ 20 staff to operate the approximately 3,000 square meter branch.
The parent company of snack producers Vanreusel (frikandellen, cervelas, hamburgers, satay, spring rolls and meatballs) and Oma Bobs (croquettes and Bitterballen) is called Beltaste. It is this umbrella organization that is investing around 1.5 million euros in the new packaging department.
The new branch, where Horeca Van Zon was located until the move to Lommel, covers a total area of 2,722 m2, of which 1,743 m2 is used for production and warehousing. The remaining space is provided for desks and additional storage. Beltast has allocated approximately €1.5 million to this prestigious project, part of which is through Bewel investments.
The customization company entered into a 10-year contract to create an area within Beltaste Packaging. Concretely, around 20 dedicated Bewel workers will be able to work at Hammont Achill from March 20, including labeling boxes and preparing packaging to certain specifications. The deal is excellent news for employment in North Limburg, and also demonstrates the importance that Beltaste places on an inclusive community.
The new packaging center will be officially opened on Wednesday, March 20.
