Miguel Angel Lopez won the Queen’s stage in the Vuelta. Superman Lopez jumped from the elite group on the brutal final climb Altu d’El Gamoniteiru and was never seen again. Colombian Movistar snatches his first victories in the Vuelta. Primus Roglic kept everything under control in the stalking group and kept his captain’s red jersey.
The eighteenth stage of the Vuelta arose itself as the Queen stage of this Tour of Spain. Just as in the previous phase, it rained from the start on Thursday. This quickly led to the creation of a giant flagship group of no fewer than 32 riders. Our compatriots Harm Vanhoek, Maury Vancevenant, Jens Queclair, Flores de Ter, Blankart, Diolph and Lora were on their wit and sneaked in on the Queen stage trip in the Vuelta. Other popular names include Majka, Aru, Izagirre, and Storer.
In the peloton, Guillaume Martin ran into trouble with surprising speed. With more than a hundred kilometers remaining, the number five in the overall rating dangles in the back of the pack. Meanwhile, Storer crowned himself the new King of the Mountains. The Australian also ran alone with over 50 kilometers to go. Obviously, his hunger was not satiated after his victory in the seventh and tenth stages.
Bernal again
The Bahrain-Victorius, Movistar and UAE team worked respectively in Peloton where Bernal and Roglic did not attack from far this time. Bardet had an attack in the store twenty kilometers from the end. The Frenchman wanted to save his spotted jersey, but was unable to get past his teammate Storer. David De La Cruz succeeded, although mainly because Storer was a rooftop.
Five kilometers from the finish, Bernal was again the first candidate to put his nose in the window. However, Roglic stuck to the leash of the Colombian white jersey and Cos, Lopez and Mas followed in his wake. Lopez, in turn, made a powerful pass and pulled de la Cruz back. The Colombian did not stray from the elite group.
In the background, try Roglic Himself Lopez is still threatening to win the stage. Bernal also stung several times, but Superman Lopez was flying. The Colombian had his best win of the season.
