Mom buys Flixbus American bus operator Greyhound

FlixMobility, the parent company of German bus operator FlixBus, buys American Greyhound lines, named after its iconic gray-blue buses. Through the acquisition, Flixmobility aims to expand its low-cost bus services in the United States. Greyhound is the largest bus operator in the United States, where Flixbus has been operating since 2018.

Flixmobility deposits $ 172 million to Greyhound, converting nearly 8 148 million. The Greyhound belonged to the British First Group and went to 2400 locations in North America. About 16 million passengers use Greyhound buses each year.

Greyhound has been around since 1914 and was founded in the state of Minnesota. Many people are familiar with long buses with the hunting dog logo of American movies and series. Buses are mainly used for long distances between cities. The greyhound is the fastest dog breed in the world.

In 2019, Flixmobility has already merged with competing Eurolines. The company then acquired the company from the French public transport company Trans de. FlixBus launched in Germany in 2013 and now operates in dozens of countries.
