Scientists discover the origin of horses science and planet

The answer to the age-old question “Where did our horses come from” was hidden in Genine. This is according to a new study published yesterday temper nature figured out. Scientists have shown how horses as we know them got here and took out everything else.

It is a topic that has been discussed for some time. Despite the fact that horses have been side by side with humans for centuries and we use them every day, no one knew exactly where they came from. A question answered by a team of French scientists led by Professor Ludovic Orlando.

However, it was not easy to find the cradle of the horse. Scientists began their research in Central Asia in the area around Botai. After all, the first evidence of horse domestication has already been found. But after a thorough investigation, it turned out that this was not the starting point, so the search continued. Scientists studied the genetic material of 273 horses from all over Eurasia.

They finally found the solution in the Pontic-Caspian steppes of the North Caucasus. Here man and horse first found each other thousands of years ago and the horse was finally domesticated. Soon this species invaded Eurasia, expelling many native species. Before 2000 BC, scientists still saw a lot of diversity in horses, after that it no longer. One species managed to replace all wild horses from the Atlantic to Mongolia.

French scientists have also shown why the modern domestic horse is so popular. She credits her success with a strong backbone and calm nature. Two traits that proved decisive in an era when man discovered the world on horseback.
