From January 1, 2022, Liesbeth Kok will be the new Director General of the Northern Netherlands Band (NNO).
Growing up in Winston, Coke is currently the Managing Director of Slackwerk Den Hawk, and has previously co-directed the Cello Finale Amsterdam with the Dutch String Quartet Academy and the Asia Pacific Music Festival (Wellington / New Zealand).
Jannevitsky de Vries of the NNO Oversight Committee says, “We are delighted to have found an experienced music director with a passion for the Northern Territory.
In addition to his master’s degree in law at Leiden University, he graduated as a musician (violin / viola) at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. As a violinist he has worked with the Orchestra National du Porto, the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Band and Dunedin Symphony. While in the NNO, Lisbeth returns north.
At the end of October, Ingeborg Walinga left NNO to take up his new post at the Prince Glass Conservatory and the Knowledge Center for the Arts and Community in Groningen.
“Introvert. Communicator. Tv fanatic. Typical coffee advocate. Proud music maven. Infuriatingly humble student.”
