Anderlecht fights for the three points against Charleroi in…

The atmosphere in Anderlecht will be less tense in the coming days than it was last week. On a fairly average pot, Purple & White managed to get three more points over the line (1-3) on visiting Charleroi for the first time since October 24. It was Yuor Rafailov’s golden boot – finally back in the starting line-up – who broke the match opener. After the break, Anderlecht scored two more goals, which was enough for the victory. RSCA remains in sixth place, but is close to the top four once again.

Vincent Kompany made three changes to his starting lineup after a disappointing draw against Kortrijk last week: Rafaelov, Amouzzo and Murillo joined the squad. However, it was the zebras who stepped forward first. When Hoedt allowed Morioka to run, Japan’s Nicholson managed to penetrate deep. Goalkeeper Van Kromberg saved the offside whistle for offside. Not long after, Golizade and Morioka found each other excellent. The latter started, but his shot meant a Van Cromburg pickup.

The opening stage was mainly marked by a lot of midfield fighting. Anderlecht, in particular, is just barely across the midfield. When that happened, Zirkzee couldn’t get through to Amuzu’s cross. Twenty minutes later, we fell asleep because nothing had happened in a while. Anderlecht has never been able to keep up with the ball for more than five seconds, except by tapping some balls deep into the back.

Out of nowhere, Anderlecht seemed to be heading towards the first goal as Zirkzee sent his attacker Koam into the rear. The Ivorian couldn’t help but approach Kofi, but stumbled to his feet. is unlikely. In the second half, Amuzu saw his shot by Bessile.

As the break approached, Anderlecht was starting to threaten a little. First there was a free kick from the far right of the back line. Gomez kicked well from a sharp corner kick, but Kofi kept the ball from his goal. A minute later, Rafailov withdrew from outside the penalty area, but his shot hit the crossbar. In the first half, he tried the Golden Boot again from the same spot. This time, the Israeli shot perfectly across the corner: 0-1 and his starting place was immediately justified.

Just as in the first half, the home team came out of the dressing room more sharply, but Charleroi’s attacking spirit did not last long. Just as before the break, things weren’t going well in Anderlecht for long. Purple & White were no more threatening with a sweeping shot from Kouamé that blasted off high during the first twenty minutes of the second half.

Halfway through the second half, Anderlecht clinched the match from a stagnant stage. Gomez kicked a free kick towards the goal. Everyone expected another swerve, but no one had hit the ball yet. Kofi also failed to do so and so the score was 0-2.

After the second goal for Purple & White, Charleroi finally came back and was immediately dangerous twice. At first Van Cromburg had to save a shot from Kayembe from his own net, then the RSCA goalkeeper saved again with a powerful header from Nicholson. Just under fifteen minutes before the end, Van Cromburg had to give up. Ilaimaharitra gave plenty of space to score and hit the untenable connecting goal into the far corner. And so it was still an exciting final stage.

The second half ended up being more interesting than the first. Anderlecht immediately responded with a 1-2 and it looked like Kwame headed in, but Kofi made a fine save. In the end, Purple & White were awarded a penalty after a foul on substitute Vershaeren. It was Gomez who took the penalty, sent Kofi the wrong way, scored his second goal of the evening and made the final score 1-3. The match is played. In injury time Andreu appeared to make 2-3, but the VAR intervened and eventually disallowed his goal.

Has the crisis been averted now in Anderlecht? Not necessarily, but calm returns for at least a few days. On Tuesday, another important date awaits Syring in the Sketch Cup.
