Microsoft is removing the Programs and Features section from the traditional Control Panel that still exists in Windows 11. Previously, Network Settings were already disappearing, as the company slowly but surely replaced the entire Control Panel.
If you launch Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 2252 in the Dev Channel and click Programs and Features in Control Panel, you will no longer get to the traditional tool, but to the Applications section of the Settings menu. Also, the option to remove installed updates has been moved to Windows Update in the Settings menu. According to Microsoft The changes are part of the “continuous effort” to move items from the Control Panel, or Control Panel, to the Settings menu.
It seems that Microsoft has been speeding up this matter since the arrival of Windows 11. At the beginning of December, version 22509 of Windows 11 preview was released, in which Microsoft was released Network and Sharing Center settings From the control panel to the settings menu or linked to the corresponding menu items in those settings.
The Control Panel has been around in Windows since 1985. In Windows 11, it’s basically a leftover of the screen as it was in Windows Vista and Windows 7. Starting with Windows 8, Microsoft also made the settings available through the Settings menu. Modern View, and the company has since moved more options from the Control Panel to the Settings menu.
