Bart Swings downplays Dutch skiers in his country: ‘He was two categories better than the rest’

Bart Swings won a skating marathon for the Dutch KNSB competition in Breda on Saturday. Swings triumphed in the final race after 125 laps. In a group of twenty skaters, he was too fast for Harm Visser (second) and Bart Hoolwerf (third).

The trip back to Europe after the two World Cup finals in North America was well received by Belgium’s top skater. It helped that in the eighth marathon of the season, Peloton was relatively tepid and started thinking about the final race forty laps before the finish. Three strong teams holding each other together, Loner Swings benefited.
