Club Brugge selects Dutchman Alfred Schroeder as new coach | Jupiler Pro League

Club Brugge was forced to switch quickly after Philippe Clement’s impending departure to Monaco. In his search for a successor, Blauw-Zwart ended up with Dutchman Alfred Schroeder, and leading Dutch sources such as NOS and Voetbal International wrote.

Schroeder has been unemployed since October. Then he was thanked for the services rendered by Barcelona. He was an assistant coach, Ronald Koeman, who had to leave. He also played the assistant role at Ajax and Hoffenheim earlier in his career. In the 2018-2019 season, Eric ten Hag helped the Amsterdam side cause a stir in the Champions League.

But the 49-year-old coach also has T1 experience. For example, he worked in Hoffenheim. He succeeded Julian Nagelsmann there in 2019. His time ended a little less than a year later. His brief stint as head coach at Twente 2014-2015 was not very successful.

Now Schroeder, a former midfielder for RKC, NAC, Feyenoord, Twente and Vitesse, is almost certain to take the reins at Club Brugge. It will be his first pass in our country.

The customization is clear: the doubling. Club Brugge is still competing in the cup and of course wants to extend its national title. Schroeder will join the club’s training camp in Spain during the week.
