22-year-old Nadia Popovici, a cheerleader who was sitting in the stands, turned out to be our hero of the day. Although the match – October last year – was already in full swing, she noticed a completely different detail in the neck of the opponent’s coach. “The mole on your neck is probably cancer, please see a doctor,” she wrote on her phone, holding it in front of plexiglass.

Fortunately, Hamilton was aware of the warning and had it checked out by a sports doctor that week. It turned out to be a malignant tumor, called melanoma, which requires prompt medical intervention. The coach has since recovered. “I owe her a mole check,” Hamilton told US media.
Popovici, who was later discovered via social media, will be rewarded for her alert note with a scholarship of $10,000, equivalent to €8,850. Her award was announced during a new match on the field to loud cheers. She previously worked in the hospital, seeing patients with the same type of skin cancer. “Now that’s karma,” one commentator said during the match broadcast.
