Quick Step-Alpha Vinyl heads to the 57th Tirreno-Adriatico, the Italian stage race that begins next Monday.
Remko Evenpoel, world champion Julian Alaphilippe and sprint forward Mark Cavendish defend the Wolfpack’s colors.
It will be his third stage race of the season with 22-year-old Evenpool. Last month he actually won the Algarve Tour and was second on the Valencia Tour. This will be his first participation in the “Bahrain Track”.
The team also consists of Danish race winner Kasper Asgren, compatriot Mikel Honoré, Italian Davide Ballerini and Czech Josef Cerny.
“It’s a beautiful course, but challenging, where riders of all kinds have opportunities,” says the sporting director. David pramatia† “For the sprints we have Mark, the multiple stage winner here, but Julian and Remko can also put in good results next week.”
“Despite the opening trial time on the first day (over 13.9 km), the differences at the top will be evident on the Carpegna, a difficult climb we know from the Giro (on the penultimate day). We start with a lot of confidence and looking at it day in and day out.”
