Earlier this year, nominations for the prestigious Museum of Music were announced. Eminem, Kate Bush, Lionel Richie, and Pat Benatar can count on a nomination, among others. Dolly was also one of them and promised to release a rock album if she was recruited. But the singer has now completely withdrawn from the race. “While I am deeply proud and grateful, I do not feel I have any right to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” Barton said on Twitter. “The nomination inspires me to make a good rock ‘n’ roll album, something I’ve always wanted to do.”

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a museum in Cleveland, USA, dedicated to the history of famous rock and roll musicians. Previous finalists who landed include Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Stevie Wonder, Etta James, Joni Mitchell, Madonna, Janet Jackson and Jay-Z.
This isn’t the first time Dolly Parton has declined a major award. Former President Donald Trump wanted to award her the Presidential Medal of Freedom during his tenure. But she refused to accept this from Trump.
