Patrick Levere joins the women’s team, AG Insurance is the main sponsor | Women’s cycling

It was known for months that Patrick Lefevre would jump into women’s cycling.

at Interview with Cyclingtips Lefevre had stated in December that he was not against entry, but his vision was clear and clear.

“I want to start with the juniors and give the youth a climate to develop,” Lefevere said at the end of last year.

Lefevere joined NXTG Racing, a youth team under the Dutch flag where Jolien D’hoore began serving as team captain this season after retiring as a professional racer.

This collaboration is rapidly taking on a next dimension. With AG Insurance, a source of financing for the long-term project has been found. The partnership will start immediately and will run until 2025.

The current NXTG formula is a project of founder Natasha Dean Ouden, partner of former racer Servais Knaven. With AG Insurance, the National Cycling Federation’s partner for 25 years, there is now a big injection.

“Our philosophy is to work on developing the NeXT generation, the foundations of women’s cycling,” she said.

Patrick Lefevre, sponsor of Quick Step-Alpha Vinyl, shares this vision of “creating a successful, sustainable sport.”

“We were looking for a female team to start from scratch and build real foundations,” said the partnership CEO. “Natasha’s project is just right.”

“We have built a proven track record of working with young riders.”

“We will apply the same philosophy with this team, providing young and talented riders with a clear and sustainable path of progression in the spirit, culture and philosophy that defines Wolfpack’s daily operations.”

The “new” AG Insurance NXTG team, which will be showing at the Brugge-De Panne Women’s Classic starting Thursday, wants to join the high next level next year.

“This year the team will evolve into a structure comprising the Elite Team, the U23 Development Team and a Small Team with the goal of the Elite Team obtaining the WorldTour license by 2023.”
