The Attorney General began the investigation on the most popular processor in the states of California and Florida. TikTok, a subsidiary of the Chinese group Fight Dance, has been accused of encouraging children to use it for long periods of time. In particular, the methods used and the marketing methods are explored.

“Our children are growing up in the age of social networking. Many feel the need to compete with the filtered versions of reality they see on their screens,” California Attorney General Rob Ponda said in a statement. “We know it’s devastating for the mental health and well – being of children, but we do not know if those companies knew about it or when.

Earlier, several attorney generals had already launched an investigation into Facebook’s parent company, Meta. Lawyers accuse the social networking giant of promoting Instagram to young people and ignoring internal reports of potential harmful effects.
