Abdi hid for a long time in the elite group with his friend Abdi Nagy, who helped him get a bronze medal at the Games in Tokyo.
After 33 kilometers, the leading group tore in two halves. Both El Abidine threatened to miss the shot, but Bashir still had enough in the tank to fill the gap. Naji followed in his friend’s footsteps.
After three kilometers, Bashir Abdi’s barrel seemed to be over. He left a hole, but came back to peck. A few meters off the ground, Abdi lost contact.
