Hollywood’s stunning actors are given tips on Halloween costumes

The actors union SAG-AFTRA defends the interests of 160,000 actors and artists who have been on strike since July. The strikers are demanding better wages, working conditions and protection from artificial intelligence. An agreement has already been reached with the screenwriters, but negotiations with the actors’ union are still pending.

The strike is accompanied by many restrictions and instructions. The union is now calling on striking members not to dress up as characters for Halloween this year, as that would promote the studios they are at loggerheads with.

Traditionally, Halloween is the day when many Hollywood stars dress up as their favorite characters and often express this on social media. With blockbuster movies like “Barbie” and “Wednesday,” there are already plenty of options to choose from this year. The union is now asking its members to choose costumes inspired by “common characters and characters (ghost, zombie, spider, etc.)” or “characters not covered by the strike rules.”

Therefore, Associate Members may dress up as a generic character without reference to a character from a movie or series. “Let’s use our collective power to send a loud and clear signal to striking employers that we will not promote their content without a fair contract,” the union said.
