Abarth has a new model. Abarth’s latest is a car unlike any other brand. Meet the Abarth Fastback, or Fastback Abarth as the brand itself refers to the car. You guessed it: this is the replacement for the already existing Fiat.
Abarth only offers its stylish version of the Fiat 500e electric car in the Netherlands. It also appears that a sportier version of the new Fiat 600e will come under the Abarth brand name. Today we learn about the Abarth car that has another combustion engine: the Abarth Fastback. The form may look familiar to you. The Abarth Fastback is thus a replacement for the Fiat Fastback, which is marketed as a sports model and on sale in South America, among other places. In the Netherlands, you shouldn’t expect an Abart Fastback.
Fiat fastback
After the Abarth Pulse, the Abarth Fastback is the second Abarth model to appear on sales charts in South America. The Scorpio Stinging Fastback replaced its Fiat logos with Abarth shields and wrote that sub-brand’s name backwards. The Abarth Fastback features new, sportier-looking bumpers all around, two exhaust outlets in the lower part of the hips, wide wheel arches, special light alloys and body-colour accents around the wheel arches and sills. Abarth illuminates the interior with carbon fiber stripslook And insert red stitching.
You might think that an Abarth Fastback would be more powerful than a Fiat Fastback anyway, but that’s not entirely true. The Abarth Fastback has 180 hp and 270 Nm of powerful torque 1.3 that loves gasoline and ethanol. Is it filled with ethanol? Then this machine treats you to 185 horsepower. With this 1.3, the Fiat Fastback accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds. This 1.5 is also available in a temporarily available sportier version of the Fiat Fastback called Fiat Fastback powered by Abarth. However, this special flavor requires 8.1 seconds for the 0-100 sprint. In addition, this “real Abarth” version benefits from other technical changes. This means that it is closer to the asphalt and the suspension is firmer. Abarth also made the steering more direct and revised aspects such as traction control. The Abarth Fastback also has a true Poison mode where things like throttle response and power steering are set to its sporty settings. In Brazil, the Abarth Fastback costs 30,140 euros.
