Alewijnse doubles its distribution center • Warehouse Total

In order to serve yacht projects better and more professionally, Alewijnse (a systems integrator for shipbuilding, among others) has set up a new warehouse at the shipyard in Vlissingen.

Lack of space in the warehouse

The lack of space was the reason for the expansion. Tom Melder, Chief Operating Officer at Alewijnse: “We have outgrown our old location. The new warehouse is larger, more professional, more secure and logistically more accessible. We have more space for installation materials and cables and can organize work packages and project supplies more clearly. This allows us Providing better service for all types of yacht projects at the operating yard in Vlissingen.”

Warehouse layout

The new warehouse is equipped to operate four to five large yacht projects simultaneously. About seventy installation staff can go there at any time of the day to obtain electrical and installation materials with the professional service assistance of three full-time warehouse staff. Above the warehouse, a space was created that can accommodate about 25 workplaces for assigning engineers, engineers and supervisors.

In order to serve customers quickly and professionally, Alewijnse has already set up ten warehouses on Alewijnse sites or shipyards, not only in the Netherlands, but also in France, Romania and Vietnam.
