Music“Monteiro (Call Me By Your Name)”, a popular song by rapper Lil Nas X, has been removed from Spotify. The rapper writes this on his Instagram page. Earlier this week, the man had already warned his fans of possible interference by the streaming platform.
The song sparked a lot of controversy in the United States, with Lil Nas X Gay (22) performing a bosom dance for the Devil in a video clip for the song. The rapper wrote on Twitter, “I’m not kidding, everyone will go and listen to Call Me By Your Name collectively, because it may not be available tomorrow.” And there is nothing I can do about it. Thanks for all your support! “
Fans have already noticed that the song can no longer be played via Spotify. Someone wrote on social media, “If I click on the song, nothing will happen.” “All the other Lil Nas X songs are still playing!”
Why Spotify took the song offline is not entirely clear yet. The stadium supervisors have not yet responded to the incident.
