Manchester City appears to be heading towards a painful defeat against Chelsea. But Rodri – once again – brought on De Bruyne and his teammates in the final stage.
Kevin De Bruyne and Jeremy Doku were both in the starting line-up for the home team. Our compatriots saw how Chelsea took the lead before half-time. It was Raheem Sterling who childishly cut off Kyle Walker and scored against his former club.
De Bruyne – who played a somewhat unknown first half – had a unique opportunity to equalize the score in the first minutes of the second half, but his free kick ended up in the roof of the goal. Erling Haaland also had a difficult evening. The Norwegian goalkeeper missed some excellent chances.
It seemed that City had been left empty-handed, but Rodri decided otherwise. The Spanish defensive midfielder smashed the ball hard into the ropes.
Despite the late equalizer, City – with one game less played – are four points behind leaders Liverpool. Arsenal – who produced an impressive performance against Burnley this afternoon – are also above City in the world rankings.
