You will be part of the Group Management consisting of the Municipal Secretary/General Manager and the Group Director for the Social Area and current position. Together you are responsible for 9 departments (See organizational chart)
You work closely with Department Heads and Team Leaders within the MRO, City Management (SB) and Project Management and Advice (PMA) departments.

What will you do as a space manager?
As a member of the Group's management, you are partly responsible for the further development of the municipal organization in order to respond to internal and external developments. In recent years, the municipality has developed into an agile, sensitive and results-oriented organization focused on our residents and social missions and is a valuable and self-confident cooperation partner of local and regional partners.
Core values ​​like trust, taking responsibility, improvement and communication are important and these core principles should fit you like a glove. This way you give each other space and trust so that everyone can carry out their tasks within clear outcome agreements.

You are responsible, along with your fellow directors and department heads, for supporting, informing and providing (strategic) advice to the Board. You contribute to increasing the strategic capacity and political and managerial sensitivity of the organization. You are pushing for a strong position for Leidschendam-Voorburg in the region. The municipality is committed to building bridges with the local community and benefiting from residents’ input. In the area of ​​regional strength, the municipality is developing into a confident cooperation partner.

You are also responsible for initiating, developing, evaluating, and modifying the long-term vision, goals, and strategy. You also have control over the planning and control cycle and associated tools and can manage business management frameworks.
There are great challenges in the spatial field, such as the development of both urban and rural areas, the realization of housing, mobility and energy transition approaches, the further development of the sustainability program and regional cooperation in space for industrial parks.

To achieve social results and the Board's goals, you manage department heads and program directors, of whom you are the official client, in your field. Together, you are responsible for performance in the spatial domain, each based on your role, tasks, and commitments. Within your scope of work, you focus on a strong chain of policy, implementation, management and seamless communication between line, project and program activities.

When there are problems, you are encouraged internally and externally to think side by side and understand each other's positions and concerns. Keeps responsibilities and decision points clear (role stability). You dare to think outside the box creatively and take initiatives.

As a Group Manager, you are the backbone of cooperation between the Board of Directors and the official organization and between the municipality and various partners, with the aim of the future vision, together with your fellow Group Manager and the General Secretary/Director General of the Municipality. As a group manager, you are responsible for the spatial domain, but also for the communication between domains.

Responsible management experience in the spatial field is a great advantage. You have demonstrable experience working within a complex socio-political administrative organisation, as well as knowledge of project-based and programmatic work.

working conditions
Depending on your education and experience, Leidschendam-Voorburg offers you a maximum gross salary of €9,614 per month based on a 36-hour work week (job scale 16).
