Two new ATMs are on the way

NINOVE – Batopin now only has a neutral cash point to bank in Ninia Shopping. By 2025, one at a time will be added in Aspelare and Denderwindeke.

Batopin (Belgian ATM Improvement Initiative) is an initiative of the four major Belgian banks: Belfius, BNP Paribas Fortis, ING and KBC. They have systematically closed their ATMs and want to install new cash points at 970 locations by the end of 2025.

It is already present in about 400 locations with about 1,000 ATMs. Batopen is still searching for a suitable location for a cash point at its 420 location. This mainly concerns places that have nearby parking and are located in a central location in the village or town centre.

Ninov

Batopen consults with local authorities for this purpose, but also relies on citizens and property owners to suggest a good location. There are 3 types of cash points: indoor, in the wall and as a stand-alone kiosk.

In Ninov, there is only one cash point currently active at Ninia Shopping. By the end of next year, more will be added at the Aspelari Center and Denderwindiki Village. However, Batopen is still looking for suitable locations.

City Mayor Tanja de Jong (Open Vld) is pursuing this file in the Federal Parliament. She also told us that she wanted a cash point for Meerbeke and Okegem. A new meeting is scheduled to be held on Thursday, March 21.

Apart from the planned Batopin ATMs, ATMs at Argenta (Brusselstraat), Beobank (Graanmarkt) and bpost (Bevrijdingslaan) are currently still in operation.
