The Mercedes-AMG GT 43 is the new entry-level model in the range. It no longer uses a V8 power source, as in the GT 55 (476 hp and 700 Nm) and GT63 (585 hp and 800 Nm). A four-cylinder engine, as we saw previously with the engine technically closely linked to the GT Mercedes AMG SL 43.
In the Mercedes-AMG GT 43, the electrified 2-litre turbo petrol engine is good for 421 hp and 500 Nm of peak torque (compared to 381 hp and 380 Nm in the SL 43 AMG). This power is sent to the rear wheels via a nine-speed Speedshift MCT transmission. So there is no 4Matic engine as there is with the V8 models. A temporary electric boost of 14 hp, thanks to a 48-volt starter generator.

The four-cylinder engine gives the new Mercedes-AMG GT 43 excellent performance. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 4.6 seconds and top speed is 280 km/h, compared to 4.9 seconds and 275 km/h for the SL 43 AMG.
The lighter nose promises somewhat quicker steering behavior, but no changes have been made to the chassis setup itself. In the GT 43 AMG, Mercedes makes you pay extra for the AMG Ride Control adaptive suspension, rear-wheel steering and active aerodynamics.
