The US and the Netherlands are planning a meeting to discuss export restrictions for chip machine maker ASML. The Dutch Foreign Ministry has confirmed that the talks will take place next Monday.
In particular, there will be discussion about export restrictions to China that the US wants to impose on ASML. The country has submitted a request for this to the Netherlands. Reuters reports that Alan Estevez, head of US export policy, is coming to the Netherlands to further discuss the request. That request means the US wants to ban ASML from exporting semiconductor equipment to China.

This is one of the many ways we communicate,” according to the Dutch ministry, which emphasizes that the Netherlands is responsible for the country's export policy and that export license applications are evaluated “on a case-by-case basis.”
