After a short test, it appears that Microsoft has started rolling out App Recommendations in the Windows 11 Start menu, and the ads will be included with a new update starting this week.
Microsoft has been working on integrating recommendations and ads into Windows 11 for some time. Consider, for example, Office 365 ads if you don't have a subscription, or the new “Copilot” button that should get users used to Microsoft's AI assistant. .

The Start menu now also receives these types of recommendations. This relates to ads for apps in the Windows Store that appear as “Recommended” or “Recommended” at the bottom of the list.
