The darkest Assassin's Creed yet?
It's been two years since Assassin's Creed Hexe was revealed. It immediately seemed that the tone was a little different from usual. There was little movement at the reveal: instead, the atmosphere was very gloomy.
This also fits well with the supposed setting of the game. It is said to be set in Germany in the sixteenth century, when witch hunting was common. This also allegedly affects the main character very directly, so it wouldn't be fun at all.
Magical powers
Her magical power comes in handy here. For example, she can control a cat, which can distract soldiers. Maybe Elsa has greater powers, but that's still unclear.
No more open world
Assassin's Creed Codename Red is currently expected to be an open world game, like many other recent releases. But that's of course not where Assassin's Creed's roots lie. Hexe will return to the franchise's roots.
Jack the Ripper in Germany
Speaking of older Assassin's Creed titles, Hexe will also be making a return in Syndicate, specifically the Jack the Ripper DLC from 2015. In this DLC, you can intimidate your enemies, sometimes allowing you to take them down without killing them.
When will Assassin's Creed Hexe be released?
It will take some time before we know exactly what is true about this. Furthermore, a lot can still change, as Hexe will still be in an early stage of development. We don't see the game coming out too soon.
It is currently expected to be released in 2026. The release will be via Assassin's Creed Infinity, a new platform where future games will be released. Assassin's Creed Red is the first game that can be played this way.
