Antonio Tiberi was one of the disappointments of the second stage of the Giro d’Italia. Italian from Bahrain Victorius has ambitions to reach the top five in this round, but lost a lot of time on the final climb to Europe. “I had very bad luck,” Tiberi says. “I was in good shape when the final climb started to get steeper and the pace picked up. But I had a flat tire and then another mechanical problem with my new bike. I tried my best to get back and limit the loss, but it was impossible. I lost some time.”
In the end, Tiberi crossed the line in 34th place, 2 minutes and 24 seconds behind Tadej Pogacar. He is now 26 years oldH In the general classification. Interim number five, Ainer Rubio, leads him by less than two minutes.
