Geybels and his GTS group celebrate on the top of the scaffold!

At the Transport and Logistics Awards, Ben Geybels Group-GTS won first prize in the Green Truck Award 2024 category. This is national recognition for a company that puts its fleet on the road in a sustainable and safe way.

Group-GTS from Tessenderlo is one of the leading logistics companies in the country. CEO Ben Geybels and Chief Operating Officer Roel Smets have expanded the company, which has been around for more than 40 years, into a player with more than 300,000 square meters of logistics space, a fleet of 700 trucks and 1,300 semi-trailers and trailers.

It goes without saying that implementing more sustainability is a huge challenge for a company of this size. Yet the Group-GTS succeeds admirably. This is also the opinion of the jury of the Transport and Logistics Awards, which awarded the most “green” company award to Group-GTS.

“We were able to win this award through the creation of our Solutions and Sustainability business unit, as well as through our continued attention to climate and the environment,” says Ben Gables. “We have recently achieved good results in the paradigm shift and have all the tools necessary to gradually transition to a zero-emission fleet and thus achieve our customers’ environmental, social and governance goals.”

Group-GTS immediately commits to continuing to strive for the lowest possible CO2 emissions in the future. “This award is the culmination of the hard work we have put in over the years,” says Ben Gables. “A great incentive to continue our efforts in this field!”
