After European elimination to Fiorentina, Club Brugge must once again focus on the qualifiers. He has everything in his hands to get the national title.
Whether Club Brugge qualified for the Conference League final or not, the focus should have been on the play-offs after the semi-finals. The Conference League Final will not be played until after the playoffs.
Club Brugge will host Union at home on Monday, followed by an away match against Anderlecht and finally a derby match against Cercle Brugge for its own people. Therefore, the path to the title is still difficult for Club Brugge.
Hein sees the Bruges crowd as the motivation
For Nicky Hayne, the European elimination should have no consequences for the rest of the play-offs. “There was disappointment, which is 100% justified. But if you see the reaction of the fans, the players will take that with them as well.”
“This is also what we want to take with us after the European exit. We will exit the tournament, but with our heads held low. I think that is true when you see how we played.”
“This open book that we have received from the fans should provide the motivation to successfully finish the last three matches of the qualifiers,” Hayne added. With two more home games to go, that shouldn’t be a problem.
