Deceuninck-Quick Step allows winner Ronde Asgreen to add up to 2024 | Cycling

After world champion Julian Alaphilippe and Remco Evenepoel, Kasper Asgreen has also chosen to stay longer at Deceuninck-Quick Step. The Flanders Tour winner extended his contract until 2024.

Kasper Asgreen ended up at Deceuninck-Quick Step in 2018. This year, the 26-year-old Dane has taken the step to the absolute world summit with his victories at the E3 Saxo Bank Classic and Tour of Flanders.

“I didn’t have to think about staying with Deceuninck-Quick Step,” Asgreen says. “Deceuninck-Quick Step is the most successful team in the world and I’ve dreamed of riding this team since my amateur days.”

“After 3 years I still think this is the best environment for me. Extending the contract at the start of the season makes me happy and motivates me more to perform.”

What are Asgreen’s ambitions for the upcoming seasons? “I want to add more classics to my honors list. I also want to win a stage in a Grand Tour and compete for a good result in the World Cup (if the tournament suits me).”

Remco Evenepoel (to 2026) and world champion Julian Alaphilippe (2024) also put their scribbles under an earlier contract extension.
