VELP – From June 2 to 30, Nieuwe Ruimte, Rheden’s theater for visual arts, presents an exhibition of works by artist of the month José Sprinkles. She invited Ineke van Dongen, Margaret Goossen and Moniek van de Ven as co-models.
José Sprinkles finds her inspiration in the ever-changing sky and light, making landscapes and waters appear to be constantly changing in color and substance. This results in a very spatial image. Her work evokes a calm atmosphere.
Ineke van Dongen works mainly on and with paper. It uses ink and combines it with the (torn) paper. Her monograms and collages are simple and abstract.
In this exhibition I used graphic works from the “Dialogue” series as materials to create new work.
Margaret Goosen exhibits figurative works composed of a myriad of images from media such as newspapers, magazines, photographs and new performances. It uses different techniques. Over the years I’ve worked a lot with the Mugshot theme. Pictures taken of people during their arrest.
Moniek van de Ven works mainly with clay. Previously, she mainly created works inspired by handcrafted structures from Africa and the Middle East. In recent years, structures found in nature, such as nests, seeds and plant forms, have played a leading role in her work.
The exhibition will be opened on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at 3:00 pm at the exhibition site at Oranjestraat 36a in Velp. Visit every Sunday in June from 12:00 to 17:00. free entry.
