Anker has started calling its Power Bank 321. A “small number” of models are likely to overheat due to a manufacturing defect. These are models number A1112. Some Soundcore A3102 speaker models are also considered a fire hazard.
Anker writes Some of the lithium-ion batteries in the 321 Compact Power Bank may overheat, causing plastic parts to melt and creating a smoke and fire hazard. According to the manufacturer, this only concerns batches produced after March 2023. As a precaution, all power banks with model number A1112 have been recalled.
Anker advises customers not to use the power bank anymore. Users can complete the recall form and return the 321 to a recycling point. If the information entered is correct, Anker will send the PowerCore 533 Power Bank as a replacement. Its maximum power is 30W and the battery capacity is 10,000mAh. While 321 It has a maximum power of 12W and a battery capacity of 5200 mAh.
