Next generation Nintendo
The fact that this could be developed internally makes my personal interest very high. Think of the creativity in Super Mario Bros. Wonder and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but also the nerve-wracking parts with EMMI in Metroid Dread. So the idea that this could be done from within Nintendo is pretty cool. Speculation is that this is an internal project with Yoshio Sakamoto, the man behind the Metroid series, with a younger team.
We’ll just have to wait and see if that’s the case. We probably won’t have to wait long. Nintendo’s marketing cycle is pretty short these days, and with Halloween coming up in three months, it makes sense to me that the game would be released then. Let October 31st fall on a Thursday, Nintendo’s release day.
One thing is for sure: the marketing surrounding this mysterious game is different from what we’re used to from Nintendo. It’s possible that this next generation of Nintendo will be more daring and break new ground, with Emio potentially being the first M-rated horror game and the first horror game developed in-house by Nintendo. It’s possible that we’ll see more surprises like this now, who knows, even with the Nintendo Switch 2.
What do you think of Emio and the potential new path Nintendo will take? Let us know in the comments!
