The limited-edition Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years Anniversary model was first shown during Monterey Car Week.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 911 Turbo, Porsche is launching an exclusive model of its iconic sports car. The “911 Turbo 50 Years” combines outstanding performance and high-quality materials with particularly exclusive design elements. The exterior and interior design pay homage to the historic 911 Turbo models, complemented by timeless, elegant and contemporary elements. The optional Heritage Design Pack further enhances the aesthetics of the anniversary model. Porsche has limited the 911 Turbo 50 Years, which is based on the previous generation 911 Turbo S, to 1,974 units in tribute to the first year of the 911 Turbo.

(press release)

When it was introduced in 1974, the Porsche 911 Turbo (Type 930) pushed the boundaries of what was possible at the time. It transferred the high-performance turbo technology known from the 917/10 and 917/30 racing cars to a production sports car and combined it with a unique design and unparalleled everyday usability. The 50th anniversary 911 Turbo – based on the 911 Turbo S launched in 2019 – pays homage to this heritage and reinterprets it.

The standard side sills are a reference to the historic trim of the Porsche 911 RSR Turbo, which was presented at the 1973 Frankfurt Motor Show as the predecessor of the 911 Turbo. Another eye-catching colour is the current Turbonite colour, exclusive to the Porsche Turbo, which is being used here for the first time on a 911. The rear bonnet, fuel cap and Porsche logo are also in this shade. Turbonite is also used as a contrasting colour in the “Turbo 50” lettering pattern. Another historical reference is the use of charcoal grey on the rear wing blade, rear apron, mirror bases and air intake trims. The badge on the rear bonnet grille features a Turbo symbol and the years “1974-2024”. When the door is open, an LED door projector projects a Turbo icon onto the ground next to the vehicle. The 911 Turbo 50 Years comes as standard with 911 Turbo S Exclusive Design wheels in Turbonite.

The interior design references the spirit of the 1970s.

The interior of the 911 Turbo 50 Years is also rich in Turbo history. In an exclusive tribute to early Porsche 911 Turbo models, the famous MacKenzie tartan logo adorns the center panels of the seat upholstery and door panels inside. Additional Turbonite accents provide further differentiation from the regular production 911 Turbo S. Turbonite accents include the seat belts, controls, decorative stitching, trim strips with black leather inserts and the Porsche logo on the GT sports steering wheel. Illuminated Turbo 50 lettering adorns the sill moldings, which are finished in black brushed aluminum. The logo is also embroidered on the headrests of the Adaptive Sports Seats Plus. Turbo 50 lettering is also found on the backrest of the left rear seat. Above the glove box is an aluminum commemorative plaque displaying the Turbo 50 logo and the unique limited edition number of the sports car. The A-pillar, sun visors and headliner are covered in perforated Race-Tex. The dashboard is adorned with a Porsche Design Sub Second analogue clock in a special Turbo 50 design.

More history with the Heritage Design Pack

The historically inspired “50 Years of Turbo” Heritage Design Package, available as an option, adds numerous other exclusive design and equipment features to the anniversary model. All features are reminiscent of the 911 Turbo models from the 1970s. The base colour for the Heritage Design Package is Aventurine Green metallic paint. Alternatively, standard 911 colours and shades from the Paint to Sample programme are also available. Part of the Heritage Design Package is a high-quality trim in white (high-gloss satin) consisting of three elements: a dial with individually selectable starting numbers between 0 and 99, the “50 Years Turbo” logo and Porsche lettering. Those who prefer a minimalist look can delete some or all of the graphic elements.

The historic Porsche logo has been used since 1964 on the front luggage compartment lid and on the centre caps of the classic sports wheels painted in silver and high-gloss white (satin). The Turbo 50 and Porsche lettering at the rear are in gold. Inside, additional leather upholstery elements and additional design features with tartan motifs complete the anniversary model. The mouldings on the dashboard, glove box and seat backrest inserts are covered in the classic pattern. The historic Porsche logo appears on the steering wheel, while the leather of the storage compartment in the centre console is embossed with the inscription “Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur”. The dials in the instrument cluster and the Sport Chrono clock in the Heritage Design package are finished in green.

Excellent in performance, style and history.

Technically, the Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years is based on the 911 Turbo S that has been in production since 2019. Its 3.7-litre twin-turbo boxer engine with variable turbine geometry (VTG) delivers 478 kW (650 hp) and develops 800 Nm of torque. With a curb weight of 1,640 kg, this results in a weight-to-power ratio of 2.52 kg/hp. The 911 Turbo 50 Years takes just 2.7 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h and reaches 200 km/h in just 8.9 seconds. Power is transmitted to the wheels via the eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission and Porsche Traction Management (PTM) active all-wheel drive with Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), including an electronically controlled limited-slip differential at the rear. Axle with fully variable torque distribution. A sports exhaust system with black tailpipes is standard. Also standard is a 10 mm lowered sports suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and a lift system on the front axle, as well as LED headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus. The calipers of the standard PCCB brake system are finished in black.
