Luke Littler and Luke Humphries are the first to qualify for the semi-finals of the New Zealand Darts Masters. The English will face each other in the last four, which will ensure fans in Hamilton will be able to watch the World Cup final again.
In the first quarter-final of the day, Littler was too strong for Dimitri van den Berg, 6-4. ‘The Nuke’ averaged 103.78 and finished with 85.7 percent. Van den Berg averaged 99.48 and completed 57.1 percent. Certainly not bad, but Belgium simply failed to beat an unleashed Littler.

Among other things, with a 14-darter and a 74 finish, Littler was able to take an early 3-1 lead in the tournament. Van den Berg then held his own leg with an 11-darter and nine darts later had a double on Littler’s leg, but the 17-year-old Englishman gave ‘The Dreammaker’ no chance and held his own leg as well. Eleven arrows.
Van den Berg shot back-to-back 89s and 80s to get back to 4-4. However, Littler regained the lead with a 15-darter and then clinched the match with an 11-darter.
Humphries defeated Michael Smith 6-4. ‘Cool Hand Luke’ took a 3-1 lead after four legs after a 15-darter and 76 check-out. With two 14-darters, Smith then got back to 3-3.
Smith missed three chances to take the lead before Humphries regained the lead with a 17-darter. Smith tied the score with a 13-darter, but Humphries immediately followed with a 13-darter to take a 5-4 lead. The defending world champion then showed his class by taking the win with a 12-darter.
