A tour of Poland learns from Shattered Horror Jacobsen: Organization chooses safe Belgian collective barriers | Cycling

CyclingPoland tour chooses more safety. Starting this year, the organization will install new shock absorbers, both on arrival and at critical points. In so doing, it wants to avoid accidents like the one that happened to Fabio Jacobsen last year. The fences are made in Belgium and can actually be seen at E3 and Gent-Wevelgem this spring.

The Poland Tour is the first stage of the race to select the safest crowd hurdles. To this end, the organization works with an additional logistical partner. Shock absorbers are previously seen in many Flemish spring classics, such as E3 and Gent-Wevelgem. The organization will of course put shock absorbers in place at the end of each stage, but also in other risky places such as Traffic Islands.

“The safety of racing and riders has always been one of the most important points on our racing agenda,” explains Agata Lang, Deputy General Manager of Tour of Poland. “That is why we decided to use the new support from BOPLAN and its innovative systems, which were also appreciated by the riders during the races in Belgium.”

The Poland tour will take place from August 9 to 15. Meanwhile, the organization is already testing the new ramparts for the first time at the ORLEN Nation Grand Prix, the Under-23 race with the national teams on May 29-30.
