Kayakers Hermione Peters and Lies Brooks did not qualify directly for the semifinals of the K2 500m sprint. The Belgian pair finished fourth in their series, which was not enough.

Peters and Brooks are classified in the K2 500 with the leading countries in the most difficult series, Australia, New Zealand and Germany.

The Belgian pair finished third after more than 250 meters over two seconds. Even then it was clear that the first 2 would be difficult. Peters and Brooks therefore retain their strength for the rest of us after a while today.

New Zealand (1’43 “836) and Germany (1’44” 894) qualified directly for the semifinals. Peters & Brooks time: 1’48 “137.
