belgian footballA racist incident occurred last weekend during the derby match between Club Brugge and Circle Brugge. And Kevin Dinky, (20) striker of the association, pointed out on Instagram that fans of the blue and black colors call him “monkey”.
Dinky says he thought for a long time whether to tell his story on social media. He writes, “I rarely share my thoughts here, but I had to.” “I have been thinking about posting this for the past few days. I finally decided to do it because I feel morally obligated. This is beyond the game we all love.”
Denkey claims he was a victim of racism. “Last weekend, opponents supporters (Club Brugge, editor) shouted ‘monkey, monkey’ during the match. After that, a journalist also compared me to a donkey in his report. I hope this is an unintentional mistake.”
“I really believe that anyone can change. In 2021 there will be no excuse for racism or verbal abuse.” “There are so many ways to teach ourselves that. If you love football, you love everything. Also from people in football no matter who they are or what color their skin is. There is no place for racism in this world.”
