The Pentagon said on Saturday that a new team of US troops had arrived in the Afghan capital, Kabul, to ensure the evacuation of US and Afghan civilians.
The first contingent of the Navy arrived Friday. According to Fox News, up to 3,000 soldiers in Kabul are expected to expel diplomats and Afghans who worked for the Americas by the end of the week and fear retaliation from the Taliban.

About 4,2,000 people still work at the US embassy. Washington wants to eliminate “thousands a day”. According to CBS, everyone should be evacuated from the embassy by the middle of next week. Meanwhile, many employees have been left to destroy documents, electronic devices, American flags and other items that could be misused for the campaign. According to several US media outlets, the National Security Council on Saturday briefed President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on the situation in Afghanistan.
